Late bargain-hunting lifts Bursa Malaysia to ends hgher

KUALA LUMPUR: Late bargain hunting in selected heavyweights, mainly financial counters, has lifted Bursa Malaysia to end marginally higher on Friday.

At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) inched up 0.72 of a point, or 0.04 per cent, to 1,752.83 from Thursday’s close of 1,752.11.

The benchmark had opened 0.68 of-a-point higher at 1,752.79, and moved between 1,746.08 and 1,754.20 throughout the trading session.

However, the broader market was negative with losers thumping gainers 702 to 380, while 519 counters were unchanged, 1,157 counters untraded and 24 suspended.
