Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM), now over 70% controlled by Genting Bhd (KL:GENTING), has been selected for one of the three prized casino licences in New York. Its subsidiary, Genting New York LLC, has been chosen by the New York Gaming Facility Location Board to advance to the final licensing review stage with the New York State Gaming Commission. The board is anticipated to finalise and announce the issuance of licences by Dec 31, 2025. — Genting Malaysia wins New York casino licence
CelcomDigi Bhd (KL:CDB), Maxis Bhd (KL:MAXIS) and YTL Power International Bhd (KL:YTLPOWR) will fork out RM327.9 million each to acquire the government’s stake in Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB). YTL Power owns YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, the party to the deal. CelcomDigi said it received a put option notice from the Minister of Finance Inc on Dec 1, 2025 requiring the trio to take over its stake and existing shareholder loan at RM327.87 million each. SD Guthrie Bhd (KL:SDG), the world’s largest palm oil producer by acreage, is increasing its stake in a planned integrated industrial park in Johor, becoming an equal partner with Eco World Development Group Bhd (KL:ECOWLD) after EcoWorld reduces its share. Under an amended shareholding agreement signed on Tuesday, SD Guthrie — via its wholly owned subsidiary SD Guthrie Land Ventures Sdn Bhd — will increase its interest in Eco Business Park 8 Sdn Bhd to 45% from 25% previously. EcoWorld will reduce its stake to 45% from 65%, while Permodalan Darul Ta’zim Sdn Bhd will retain its 10% interest in the joint venture. — SD Guthrie boosts stake in Johor industrial park JV to 45%, becoming equal partner with EcoWorld
Global integrated energy infrastructure and marine service provider Coastal Contracts Bhd (KL:COASTAL) plans to dispose of two vessels for RM187.6 million. AWC Bhd’s (KL:AWC) wholly owned unit, Trackwork & Supplies Sdn Bhd, has won an almost RM59 million job to replace the aluminium power conductor rails on the Ampang Line for Prasarana Malaysia Bhd. Oil and gas services provider Deleum Bhd’s (KL:DELEUM) 90%-owned indirect subsidiary Turboservices Sdn Bhd has secured a six-year contract to service solar turbine turbomachinery for Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (PETRONAS) exploration arm, PETRONAS Carigali. Kelington Group Bhd (KL:KGB) said its founder and CEO Gan Hung Keng will relinquish one of his two top executive roles in order to align with prevailing corporate governance code. Gan, 61, will relinquish his position as CEO while continuing to serve as its executive chairman. Concurrently, Singaporean Lim Seng Chuan, 57, is set to assume the CEO role, effective Jan 1, 2026. — Kelington names Singapore unit chief as CEO, founder Gan Hung Keng remains executive chairman
Oil and gas services provider Steel Hawk Bhd (KL:HAWK) said its group CEO Afizul Md Yusoff has resigned after just nine months in the role. Afizul was appointed in February following the group’s internal reorganisation and restructuring of its senior management team. Property developer MKH Bhd (KL:MKH) said 47 homeowners in a township in Shah Alam are suing the group for alleged negligence involving a retention pond that contributed to two flood incidents within six months. The owners of the homes in Bandar Hillpark, Puncak Alam, led by Mohd Zikri Md Zaini, filed the suit against MKH and its wholly owned subsidiary, Hillpark Resources Sdn Bhd, at the Shah Alam High Court on Tuesday. Hillpark Resources is the developer of the township. The homeowners are seeking, among others, special damages of RM1.03 million, general damages of RM500,000 per home for 28 units totalling RM14 million, and exemplary damages to be assessed by the court. — MKH sued by homeowners in Shah Alam township over flood incidents
