Mega First declares five sen dividend

PETALING JAYA: Mega First Corp Bhd said its priorities for the rest of the year remain unchanged, which is to preserve cash, strengthen the earnings contribution from its renewable energy division, and focus on operational efficiencies and cost control.

The group saw net profit for the second quarter ended June (2Q26) of the financial year ending 2026 decline by 30% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM59.4mil, in line with the marginal slide in revenue by 3.3% to RM328.7mil.

Meanwhile, for the first half of 2026 (1H26), net profit dipped 17.5% y-o-y to RM121.7mil, alongside a 6.8% reduction in turnover to RM633.7mil.

The group attributed the softer revenue in 1H26 to weakness in its resources and renewable energy divisions, which was partly cushioned by stronger packaging sales.
