Further to the announcement made on 18 April 2017, the Liquidator of the Company wishes to update its shareholders of the following:
 

1. Tax returns for Year of Assessment ("YA") 2016 have been filed with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia on 12 May 2017. Tax returns for YA 2017 will be filed by 25 September 2017. Immediately thereafter, the Company’s tax agent will seek for tax clearance.
2. The Liquidator will call for a proof of debt after tax clearance is obtained.
3. The Liquidator targets to make a final distribution from the cash trust account to shareholders in December 2017 subject to tax clearance.
4. The liquidation of Sona E&P (Perth) Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sona Goldhill Sdn Bhd (“Sona Goldhill”), is ongoing and is expected to complete by December 2017.
5. The directors of Sona Goldhill, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sona, have initiated the process of liquidation by way of members’ voluntary liquidation.
6. The Liquidator is awaiting confirmation that Sona Exploration & Production (Thailand) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sona, has been struck off from the corporate register.
