Dr. Nurmazilah obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor in Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Professional qualifications included Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Risk Management and Assurance, Chartered Global Management Accountant, and Certified Environmental, Social and Governance Analyst, alongside memberships with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Dr. Nurmazilah built a distinguished career across both academia and industry. Early experience included audit and consultancy roles at Arthur Andersen and Co., Kuala Lumpur, followed by a corporate accounting role at KUB Malaysia Berhad.
