| Working experience and occupation | Before joining SHMB, Ms Lin Diaan Yi ("Ms DY Lin") provided consultancy and insights into portfolio strategy, asset repositioning, capital allocation, financial, performance and operational management, governance, sustainability and transformation to leading hospitality, real estate and retail owners and operators across Asia including the Shangri-La Group.
Prior thereto, she had a distinguished career of 22 years with McKinsey & Company from 2002 to 2024, the last four years as Senior Partner and Leader for the Social, Public and Healthcare Sectors across Asia. Between 2015 and 2020 she was the Managing Partner for Singapore where she grew McKinsey's client base in the largest sectors of the economy which generated a substantial growth in revenues.
Over the course of her tenure at McKinsey, she worked extensively with government entities and government-linked companies in Singapore and across Asia to design and implement major transformation programmes as well as to drive accelerated digitization and economic development. She also directed McKinsey's work with sovereign wealth funds and their portfolio companies in the region to maximise value and performance. In addition to her public-sector work, Ms DY Lin has served clients in many industries - including financial services, telecommunications, infrastructure and logistics, and energy and sustainability - on a range of issues such as strategy, corporate finance, and governance.
Before joining McKinsey, she worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York and London. She currently serves on the Board of Viva Foundation, The Esplanade, The Straits Trading Company Limited and the Communicable Diseases Agency. |
