He was the President and Executive Director of Velesto Energy Berhad, prior to his retirement. Velesto Energy Berhad is involved in offshore drilling, well intervention and oilfield service activities and is a major contractor to Petronas and other national and internation oil companies.  

In his career spanning over 32 years, he has worked with both local and multinational companies. These include Petronas Gas, Sarku Engineering, SapuraCrest Petroleum, a predecessor to Vantris Energy Berhad, and Velesto Energy Berhad. He has also served in multinational corporations including Texas Instruments and Esso Production Malaysia Inc.  

His experience covers most aspects of the oil and gas upstream activities which included engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of production, drilling and processing facilities. He was also involved in the construction and operation of heavy lift and pipelay barges and in managing marine vessel operations. Throughout his career, he has managed multiple major projects both domestically and internationally. 

On the corporate side, his experience includes managing Initial Public Offering, rights issue, restructuring and rebranding, refinancing, demerger and capital reduction exercise.  

Presently, he is actively involved in the oil and gas industry as a member of the Industry Advisory Panel for Malaysian Petroleum Resource Corporation, a government agency under Economic Planning Unit of the Ministry of Economy which is entrusted to plan and implement initiatives to enhance the oil and gas industry in Malaysia. He was also an Advisor to the Malaysian Oil and Gas Services Council, an umbrella organisation for oil and gas service providers. 

He is registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and the Institute of Engineers Malaysia. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) and a mentor for ICDM and 30% Club Malaysia.
